Come see the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico from Venice, Florida.

How do you get to Venice Florida?

  • Tampa International Airport (Approximately 77 miles, 1 hr & 20 mins)

  • Fort Myers Airport - Southwest Florida International Airport (Approximately 72 miles, 1 hr & 11 mins)

  • Sarasota Airport (28.8 miles, 41 mins)

Any of these three airports are a good way to come into the area.

When looking for flights, I start by using Google Flights. A lot of times, budget airlines are the cheapest (i.e. Spirit Airlines). Keep in mind when choosing an airline that seat selection and baggage may cost extra with a budget airline.

Another great option when flying into Tampa or Fort Myers is to fly with Southwest Airlines. You get 2 checked bags, a carry-on bag and a personal item for free, but you must book on Southwest.com.

Check flights now.

They’re probably cheaper than you’d think.

You’ll need a rental car, as well.

I always find the best rates on CarRentals.com.

Caspersen Beach.

It is the shark tooth capital of the world, yet NOT the shark capital of the world. All of the glory with none of the shark bites.

Venice Beach.

There is free parking and a cute little patio area with restrooms, fresh water showers and a little snack stand. The water and beach is incredible. Plus, there is daily free yoga.
